Romans 10:14
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Many churches today would insist that they are Bible-centered, and yet preaching the word is only a small part of their church life. Fellowship, music, small groups, or other activities take priority and set the direction of the church, while preaching becomes kind of an afterthought. To move preaching to secondary status is not an option for any church that wants to pattern itself after Scripture. Throughout the Bible, the exposition of God's Word is central to the life of God's people. "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God."
